I’ve never written a monthly wrap up OR a monthly spotlight so i’m excited to be doing it today! October was a pretty good month for me other than being super sick on my birthday. But I read some really great books, saw some good movies and listened to some great songs!
My Top Posts
I turned 21 and got a new blog design! And celebrated with a giveaway! My Birthday and Blog Redesign Giveaway!
Waiting on The Treatment by Suzanne Collins. I got accepted and it was SO GOOD! My review will be up closer to the release date.
My Top Reviews
The House of Hades- Rick Riordan. He is the best ever. The Percy Jackson series is quite possibly my favourite of all time, even over, dare I say it…Harry Potter. Although, i LOVE HP to death too.
Endless Knight- Kresley Cole. This book surpassed all of my expectations and blew me out of the water.
Trust In Me- J. Lynn. Anything (other than Frigid) by this woman, I will read. Cam’s point of view was SO good.
Aussie Authors
I picked up Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta as well as Graffiti Moon by Cath Crowley (my review will be posted in a few days) and I am totally hooked. They both had amazing prose and incredibly original stories. Its safe to say i’ll be reading more of these two plus others from here on out!
Adventures In YA Publishing
In September I applied for an internship with the two ladies who run Adventures in YA Publishing and got it, but just this past week they asked me to become a full time member! So now, i’ve got a job at a bookstore, school, my own blog and another blog! I’m so excited because they are really giving me the chance to make connections in the publishing industry, which is where I want to be working in the long run!
Favourite Music
Katy Perry has always been a favourite artist of mine, and her album Prism released on the 22nd and I am OBSESSED with the entire thing! Especially Dark Horse and Legendary Lovers. Anything by Ben Howard also needs to be listened to, because he may be my biggest obsession ever. Gorilla by Bruno Mars and Monster by Eminem and Rihanna were awesome too!
Some November Releases I Am Dying To Read
Surprisingly, November is a bit of a slower month for books, so there aren’t that many that i’m waiting for!

Extracted- Sherry D. Ficklin and Tyler Jolley. Releases Nov 12th from Spencer Hill Press.
The F- It List- Julie Halpern. Releases Nov 12th from Feiwel & Friends

Well that was some of my month wrapped up! It was overall really awesome. There was TONS of fog and it was eerie and really atmospheric for Halloween. I got a lot of money for a flight to go see my boyfriend, who goes to school in DC for lacrosse. I am REALLY excited, but won’t be going until the spring so I can watch some of his games. I got to go to the Random House Fall Preview that they put on for the company I work for, and came home with some books and am waiting on more from them!
Let me know what your month was like and what books you’re excited for for November!

the F-It List looks really good.
Congrats on the Full Time member. That is so cool. Wish i lived near a larger city so could meet publishers but, sadly little country town is what I have.

I don’t really live near publishers either. i’ll definitely be moving to work in the industry. And teh website is all remote, so I don’t actually have to go anywhere for it. Just networking 🙂
Thanks for checking out the post!
I really enjoyed The F-It List! It’s fantastically written. The characters are very witty, but the story is a bit sad 🙁 I hope you end up loving it like I did! I couldn’t stop fangirling on twitter lol.
