So today is day two of Amrchair BEA and yesterday I introduced myself a little. I didn’t participate in the classics discussion mainly because i’ve never really been a big reader of the classics so I don’t feel like I have much to say on the subject.
Today i’ll be talking about the development of my blog. Because I haven’t been blogging for too long (5 or so months) my blog hasn’t evolved as much as I know it will in the future. I’ve messed around with different themes and platforms (I started on Tumblr and realized that was a ginormous mistake then moved to Blogger, where I am very happy) but beyond that I haven’t done much.
I’m finding that Twitter is my biggest help. I have a facebook page for my blog, but I really am finding my readers aren’t really going and liking it. It’s mainly my friends who I already had on there liking it (Feel free to head on over there 🙂 https://www.facebook.com/sweptawaybybooks). I just recently got instagram and I am following lots of authors and bloggers on there and I am loving it as well. And of course, Goodreads is one of my addictions!
I would love to see myself learning how to do some coding and learning to use photoshop in the future so that I can make my blog into the best I feel it can be. And now that it is summer and i’m not taking any courses I might just take the time to learn!
I haven’t hosted any giveaways, blog tours or interviews yet but it is definitely something I plan on doing lots!
I’m really looking forward to everything that is going to happen in the future as a blogger and meeting lots of new people!
When I first started working for the bookstore company i’m with, I read mostly fiction. I loved any books about Africa or India and I forgot my love of YA. When I was actually a teenager and in high school I read a lot of YA and Middle Grade but weirdly fell out of it. Libba Bray and Anne Brashares were my favourite and probably still are. But when I transferred bookstores to the location i’m at now, my love and passion for YA was totally rekindled. Now, it’s basically all I read! Honestly it is all I read. And while I miss reading Fiction, there are just so many amazing author’s and books in the YA genre that I can’t ever get enough!
I absolutely LOVE dystopians; Divergent, The Hunger Games, Legend, Under The Never Sky, The Immortal Rules and so many more. I can’t get enough! I love any and all paranormal and supernatural books and recently I have been on a huge contemporary kick. Morgan Matson, rereading some Sarah Dessen, Jennifer E. Smith, Jennifer Echols. I like some historical YA, like recently Page Morgan’s The Beautiful and The Cursed was absolutely amazing. I love high fantasy like Shadow and Bone and Graceling. Recently I found New Adult with Ten Tiny Breaths, Wait For You, Hopeless, Pushing The Limits and many more.
If you have any great recommendations for me in those genres, let me know in the comments! I’m always looking for more to read.
Let me know about all of your blogging experiences as well, and what you think I could do to benefit my blog in any way! Help is always appreciated 🙂
