Evie has fully come into her powers as the Tarot Empress, and Jack was there to see it all. She now knows that the teens who’ve been reincarnated as the Tarot are in the throes of an epic battle. It’s kill or be killed, and the future of mankind hangs in the balance.
With threats lurking around every corner, Evie is forced to trust her newfound alliance. Together they must fight not only other Arcana, but also Bagmen zombies, post-apocalyptic storms, and cannibals.
When Evie meets Death, things get even more complicated. Though falling for Jack, she’s drawn to the dangerous Endless Knight as well. Somehow the Empress and Death share a history, one that Evie can’t remember—but Death can’t forget.
The romance was once again absolutely off the charts steamy and it definitely got confusing. I wasn’t too happy that Cole decided to make this into a love triangle, and at first I was super wary of what would happen. But as the book progressed, and I got into the part where Death actually becomes a character, I couldn’t help but totally get swept up in the relationship. I never thought I would love another character for Evie as much as I love Jack, but Death is an incredibly strong contender.
The story line in Endless Knight was flawless. It was fast paced, and explained a lot. There was one thing that I didn’t like that much though, the character development. It felt stunted in book 2. Evie wasn’t as big of a smart mouth and that was one of the things I really loved about her in the first book.
The friendships in Endless Knight surprised me. I can’t say too much without giving too much away, but I was pleasantly surprised and shocked with some of them.
I was doing some digging around on Goodreads and her website for the release date or anything based on the 3rd book… and there was nothing. I know she can’t leave the series off with the ending that she did! I want more information on book 3!! The ending to Endless Knight wasn’t a cliff hanger exactly, but it was a conclusive ending to a book either. I NEED MOAR.
All in all, Endless Knight was amazing. I had forgotten a fair bit of Poison Princess but Cole did a good job of recapping without repeating everything. I am anxiously awaiting the 3rd book to find out what happens with Evie, Death, Jack, Matthew, Selena, Finn and Lark!
Have you read either Poison Princess or Endless Knight yet? if so, let me know what you thought of it below!
