I have seriously been struggling with sticking to one book lately. I don’t know what is going on because normally I hate reading multiple books at once.
But I start one, and I like it but my attention span has been all over the place lately.
Books I have started but haven’t finished:
1. The Gathering- Kelly Armstrong
I was really looking forward to loving this series but i was just fairly bored reading it. I liked that it was based on Vancouver Island, because I live in Vancouver and I’ve never read a popular YA book based here. But the descriptions were taking over the plot and it was fairly slow. i’m not sure if i’ll get back to it anytime soon.
2. The Diviners- Libba Bray
Because this book is so daunting in size, I keep loosing interest in it. Libba Bray is one of my all time favourite authors, and this book has her signature humour in it. Along with the great descriptions and story-telling, I really feel like I am in Manhattan in 1926. So I don’t know what is up with this one, because I am loving it. Just having a hard time sticking to it.
3. Lover At Last- J.R Ward
It’s not YA but I loove this series and I have been waiting for this book for so long. So I don’t know why with this one either, because I want to read it, but my attention keeps getting pulled somewhere else.
4. Let The Sky Fall- Shannon Messenger
I started this one last night, got halfway through it and picked up something else. I have been waiting for this book for quite a while, and it is seriously awesome, if not a little slow. So why I picked up a new book, that is not that well written, when I am hooked on LTSF, I do not know.
Do you have any books you have started and loved but put aside for something else?
Do you have any suggestions to get out of a reading slump? How to keep your interest peaked in a book and finish it even if it is a daunting book? Let me know because I need some tips!
